Print Screen Procedure

computer on copier

This image shows one of the incorrect ways in which to supply me with your screen output for any assignment.

For CS 100 students, you will be required to use the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key to capture specific information on web pages, then paste the screen capture into Word for printing a hard copy.

For CS 109 students, you will be required to use the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key to capture Alice features and web pages, then paste the screen capture into Word for printing a hard copy.

For CS 200 & 207 students, another incorrect way is to use the print screen method when copying program output runs. Please mark, copy, and paste all of the required output runs into one Notepad, Wordpad, Word, or any other text editor file, and then print a hard copy of that file.
(exception: showing a dialog box)

For CS 201 students, you will be required to use the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key to capture your work, then paste the screen capture into Word for printing a hard copy.

For CS 300 students, you will be required to use the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key to capture web pages, then paste the screen capture into Word for printing a hard copy.

For CS 301 and CS 308 students, you will be required to use the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key to capture your work, then paste the screen capture into Word for printing a hard copy.

The Snipping Tool

If you are running Windows O/S Vista or greater, you can use the the Windows Snipping Tool.
It is located at: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool
Use it to select a specific window for your screen shots when required. Then, copy the screen shot from the Snipping Tool, and paste it into a Word document for printing. More on the Snipping Tool...
