About Me


Xiwei Wang joined Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) in August 2015 and is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department. His primary research interests include recommender systems, data privacy, data mining, and machine learning. He enjoys working with students on various kinds of data science projects, sparking their interests in scientific research and exploring their innovation potentials.

Xiwei earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky (UK) in May 2015. His research at UK aimed to improve data privacy preservation in collaborative filtering-based recommender systems. In June 2009, Xiwei earned his Master's degree in Computer Software and Theory from the University of Science and Technology of China, where his research mainly focused on the interest-based blog mining.
