About Us

Cyberwareness is a transatlantic research project conducted through a partnership between leading higher education research institutions in the United States and Germany. Partnership universities include Northeastern Illinois University and Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe University of Education. If you would like to learn more about members of our team, please check out our Team page. The increasing presence of social engineering threats combined with a lack of general awareness sparked a discussion between both universities; recognition of this problem led to the unanimous decision to mitigate the success of social engineering attacks. Therefore, the universities teamed up to meet this need, and help improve the field of cybersecurity through creating Cyberwareness and its social engineering quiz.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give clients of all backgrounds a practical solution on how to combat socially engineered cyber-attacks. Through our social engineering test, clients become informed, allowing clients to identify these insidious tactics. As personal data becomes more valuable, social engineering attacks' complexity increases in proportion. Our quiz’s intent is not only to inform but also to promote critical thinking for mitigating social engineering attacks in the present and future.

As academics, we share the same values as our clients by formatting our quiz with the goal of knowledge retention. We have designed our resources with fluidity and incisiveness. By doing so, we aim to deliver the most seamless and efficient learning experience. With the increased traffic in data migration online, it is paramount that people understand what social engineering attacks are and their serious implications. Through this website, our team consolidated the most common social engineering attacks to educate in an all-inclusive manner.
